OUR LADY OF GOOD COUNSEL CRUSADERS CYO ATHLETICS

OLGC CYO offers 11 sports across three seasons. In the fall, we offer football, flag football, cheer, soccer, volleyball and cross country. In the winter, we offer basketball and bowling. In the spring, we offer softball, baseball, lacrosse, and track & field. Most sports are 4th-8th grade, but we do offer opportunities for our younger parishioners in soccer, volleyball, and flag football. OLGC sports are open to all parishioners, not just OLGC school students.

OLGC CYO is always striving to provide each child with an encounter with Jesus through sports. CYO has adopted the SportsLeader program that provides our coaches with the tools to be disciples to your children. Focused on four pillars of catholic identity, mentoring, ceremony, and virtues, this program is designed to foster Catholic communication between coaches, coaches and players, and players and parents.

Registration for fall sports occurs in July, for Winter sports in October, and for Spring sports in February. The cost for a season ranges from $100 to $200. All are welcome! Learn more by visiting our website below.

WHAT OUR ATHLETES HAVE TO SAY:

“I like that I get to play with all of my friends. I like that it’s about
God, too, not just sports.” ~Jack B. (8th grade)

“l like that I can play with all my school friends in the sports I like. I
appreciate that the coaches focus on the proper teachings of the game’s fundamentals as well as their team spirit. I like that the games are well organized and structured and that the game/sport challenges me each week when I participate.” ~Daniel D. (7th grade)

JUNIOR CRUSADERS ATHLETICS

Jr. Crusaders will allow our youngest athletes to participate in organized sports for ages that current CYO athletics does not offer yet. The goal of Jr. Crusaders is to teach children the basics and fundamentals of organized sports, improve gross motor development, interact with peers outside of school settings, and have fun! Jr. Crusaders will strive to offer multiple sporting options throughout the calendar year for children in grades Pre-K 3 through 3rd grade. (Children must be 3 by Oct. 1st to participate.)

The structure for each session is athletes will come together as a team with their coach(es) to learn the basics and rules of the sport with a 30-minute practice, and then they will participate in a 30-minute competitive game against their peers on opposing teams. Teams will be co-ed and divided based on age and will compete against their same-aged peers. Registration for fall sports occurs in July, for Winter sports in October, and for Spring sports in February. The cost for a season ranges from $100 to $200. All are welcome!
