OLGC Welcomes Sister Amanda Foumia!

My name is Sr. Amanda Foumia and I am a Chaldean Sister of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate. I have been in the convent for ten years and this past year I professed my final vows on the vigil of Pentecost, May 19, 2018. The convent is located in Farmington Hills and is the formation home. Our Congregation serves the various spiritual and educational needs of the Chaldean Community.

I am currently studying at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit and working towards my M.A.P.S. degree (Master of Arts and Pastoral Studies) and God willing l will be graduating April 2020. One of the requirements as I approach graduation, is working and shadowing in a specific ministry that will further my knowledge and skills in a specific area of ministry (sacramental preparation of children will be my focus). Through prayer and discernment, the Lord led me to Sandy O’Shaughnessy who is the DRE (Director of Religious Education) at the parish of Our Lady of Good Counsel. The next few months, will be spent learning, observing and working alongside Sandy, the parish team, OLGC school, and other opportunities the Holy Spirit may lead us to. I am anticipating this experience and most especially getting to know the parish family. Be assured of my prayers!

God Bless you,

Sr. Amanda D.M.I.
